About
I am Katie, a twenty-five year old married chick from Georgia. I married the love of my life, Jonathan, on May 1, 2010. Whoever said the first year of marriage is the hardest was definantly telling the truth. We have our ups and downs but through it all, we’ve stuck together like glue. I’ve never met a more accepting and loving human being aside from my husband and thank God every day for bringing him into my life. He has taught me numerous things and amongst those things is how to love myself. If he can be so passionate about me, so can I. I am also a step-mom to a wonderbaby named Grayson. I also have two fur babies, Jack and Cici, and one pur baby, Skeety. I am a very complex person and there are many sides to me, but if you read my blog frequently, you already know this.
I am currently a student majoring in Early Childhood Education. I hope to one day teach first, second, or third grade. After I graduate with my Bachelor’s, I am either going to get my Master’s in education or speech. I can’t make up my mind if I want to be a regular teacher or a speech teacher, but either way I will be getting my Master’s. I have a passion for learning and do enjoy school. I know, I’m a dork and quite proud of my she-dorkness. I also am a major bookworm. When I was little, I spent every Friday night with at my grandma’s and we would sit in the living room reading together. She passed her fondness for books on to me and I thank her for that each day. Books are an easy way to get lost in another world. So far, my favorite class has been my Sociology class because I greatly enjoy learning about different people. That class changed the way I viewed other people because it taught me to think about where that person is coming from before I judge them. Everyone acts a certain way because of things that have happened to them in the past so before you judge them, consider their point of origin.
As I mentioned before, I’m from Georgia which makes me a Southerner and I am darn proud of that. I love the South and my Southern traditions. I also am a big believe in God. I don’t go to church every Sunday but let’s face it, going to church makes you a Christian just as much as going to Burger King makes you a whopper. I choose to live my life in a Godly way and worship at home with my family. God is a big part of my life and it took me giving in to him before I realized he’s in every fiber and being in my life. Through him, all things are possible. Even though I am a Christian, I do not believe in pushing my beliefs on others so if you don’t share the passion for Christ that I do, that’s fine with me. I will pray for you but I will not shove my beliefs down your throat.
